Changing & Managing Subscription Plans

This guide explains how to view, upgrade, downgrade, renew, or cancel your BotPenguin subscription from the dashboard.

Who Can Manage Subscriptions

  • Account Owner or Admin users

  • Users with billing permissions enabled


How to Access Manage Subscription

  1. Log in to your BotPenguin Dashboard

  2. Click on your Profile / Workspace name (top-right corner)

  3. Select Billing or Subscription

  4. You will land on the Manage Subscription page


Understanding the Subscription Screen

On the Manage Subscription page, you can see:

Current Plan Details

  • Active plan name (Free / Starter / Pro / Enterprise)

  • Billing cycle (Monthly or Yearly)

  • Plan price

  • Renewal date

Usage Overview

  • Bots used vs allowed

  • Conversations or messages consumed

  • Active channels (WhatsApp, Website, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

  • AI features usage (if applicable)

⚠️ If usage exceeds limits, certain features may be restricted until you upgrade.


Upgrade Your Subscription

To upgrade your plan:

  1. Click Upgrade Plan

  2. Compare available plans and features

  3. Choose your preferred Monthly or Yearly billing

  4. Click Proceed to Payment

  5. Complete payment using the available payment methods

Once payment is successful:

  • The new plan is activated immediately

  • Limits and features are updated in real time


Downgrade Your Subscription

To downgrade your plan:

  1. Click Change Plan or Downgrade

  2. Select a lower plan

  3. Confirm the downgrade

Important:

  • Downgrades usually apply at the end of the current billing cycle

  • Features exceeding the new plan limits may be paused


Change Billing Cycle (Monthly ↔ Yearly)

  1. Go to Manage Subscription

  2. Select Change Billing Cycle

  3. Choose Monthly or Yearly

  4. Confirm the change

Yearly plans typically offer discounted pricing.


Cancel Subscription

To cancel your subscription:

  1. Open Manage Subscription

  2. Click Cancel Subscription

  3. Select a cancellation reason (optional)

  4. Confirm cancellation

After cancellation:

  • Your plan remains active until the billing period ends

  • Account may move to the Free plan after expiry

  • Paid features will be disabled post-expiry


View Invoices & Payment History

From the same screen, you can:

  • Download invoices

  • View past payments

  • Check payment status (Successful / Failed / Pending)


Update Payment Method

To update your card or payment method:

  1. Click Payment Methods

  2. Add a new card or update existing details

  3. Save changes

The updated method will be used for future renewals.


Failed Payments & Account Impact

If a payment fails:

  • You may receive email notifications

  • BotPenguin may retry the payment automatically

  • Features could be temporarily restricted if payment remains unpaid

Make sure your payment details are up to date.

Will my bots stop working if I cancel?

Bots continue working until the end of your billing cycle.

Can I upgrade anytime?

Yes, upgrades are applied instantly.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds depend on BotPenguin’s billing policy.
